When something profound happens, you need to listen.
Hi, Iām Jo
My journey to Reiki has been a very personal one.
I was diagnosed with a benign pituitary tumour when I was 16, something I have lived with for most of my life. But it was after becoming a mum to my son, Freddie, that I began to feel a real need to heal ā not just physically, but emotionally too.
Becoming a mother brought things to the surface that I had carried for a long time. I began exploring different approaches to wellbeing, including kinesiology, acupuncture and Reiki, and gradually I started to notice a shift. Things that had once felt incredibly raw began to soften. I felt calmer, more connected to myself and increasingly interested in the relationship between our emotional and physical wellbeing.
A particularly stressful period in my life eventually became something of a turning point. I began experiencing a very strong sensation of energy in my hands and felt an instinctive pull towards Reiki. I started by practising with those closest to me, including my son, and seeing the changes in his sense of calm and wellbeing made me want to understand Reiki more deeply.
I went on to train professionally with the London Reiki Academy, and what began as part of my own healing journey has grown into something I feel deeply drawn to share with others.
Since training, I've had the privilege of offering Reiki to people at very different stages of life, both in person and through distance healing. Every experience is different, and I never make promises about what Reiki will do. For me, it is about creating a safe, nurturing space in which you can completely switch off, be looked after and simply allow yourself to be.
You don't need to be spiritual. You don't need to understand Reiki. And you certainly don't need to arrive feeling a particular way.
Whether you're feeling stressed or overwhelmed, going through a period of change, or simply curious about Reiki and would like some time dedicated entirely to yourself, you are very welcome.
